Yu Jie (Chinese: 余杰; pinyin: Yú jĭe), he is a writer and vice-president of the Independent Chinese PEN Center (ICPENC, 2005–2007), coming from Chengdu, Sichuan, China. He is actively participating in China's human rights activities, and openly expresses his own views related.[1]

Biography

He was born in Chendu, Sichuan, on October 3, 1973. Then, he began to publish his literary works in 13 years old. Yu Jie was admitted to Peking University in 1992, then in 1997 got a Bachelor of Arts degree, and a Master of Arts degree in 2000.

Professor Xiao-hong Xia, the Faculty of Literature of Peking University, said: "Yu jie got the acute and sharp genre in thought, and was emerged in free writing status. Forward, he put his essays with the internal charm and power. Therefore, he reached the realm than those who writers as they never got it in writing for life."
